It is an undeniable fact that uncertainties and risks, increasing day by day with the effect of technological, economic and political changes, take an active role in decision-making mechanism of construction companies.
However, taking into account the risks being in the nature of construction works, it is observed that management strategies being used for risk identification, risk analysis and reacting to the risk are not commonly used in construction sector in our country.
Risk management is a process including processes starting from thinking process of a product to presenting process of a product to the customer and this process should be assessed from beginning to end, as a whole.
Within this scope, under the umbrella of Turkish Contractors Association, Özgün Law Firm and Hogan Lovells organized a workshop on "Risk Management and Its Importance on International Construction Projects and Dispute Resolution" on December 7, 2016 in Ankara.
Roberta Downey and Tom Smith from Hogan Lovells and Prof. Dr. Ziya Akıncı, chairman of Istanbul Arbitration Center, attended our seminar.
